Thank you for visiting my gallery on the web!
Here I will present you with some of my work: still life and landscapes.
With still life I specialise in macroscopic views of fruit, vegetables and flowers;
with a landscape, whether it is a field of flowers or a dessert, I like to paint a wide view:
the feeling of open space.
I hope you will enjoy my paintings
and sign my guestbook or send me an
with your impressions.
Biography
I was born in Guadalajara
in Mexico. As a child the world of dance, music and art interested me a
lot. So at a very young age, I started to study painting at the School of Fine Arts at the University
of Guadalajara. My major subject was the art of painting and minor subject
was sculpture.
When I was 16 years of age
I started my dancing career. Danced for a number of years with many dance
companies and toured the whole world, first in Mexico and later in the
USA and for 4 years with the CCDC in Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Ballet.
After a career of almost
25 years in the dance world I ended up in the Netherlands. Here I rediscovered
an old passion : painting!
Showing things differently
When I paint i'm very interested
to show objects in a different way than we usually see them. This causes
us to stop and wonder about objects we otherwise would not pay attention
to.
My favorite example is the
painting "L. v. Beethoven" which you see here. In four layers several aspects
are portrayed: the hair, a part of the neck, the nose and the death mask
of Beethoven.
